Quebec Spring thaw restrictions 2013
The ministère des Transports du Québec reminds heavy vehicle users and shippers that, as each year, authorized load limits are reduced during the spring thaw period in order to take into account the weaker load bearing capacity of the road network during that period.
For the 2013 spring thaw period, the FORECASTED dates the load restrictions start and end in each of the thaw zones are as follows:
Zone 1 starts March 11 through May 10 – Montreal and surrounding suburbs
Zone 2 starts March 18 through May 17 – North of Montreal and Eastern Canada
Zone 3 starts March 25 through may 24 – Upper Quebec
