New Detroit-Windsor Bridge Clears Hurdle

 In SFL News

The development of a second Detroit MI, Windsor ON bridge faced one final hurdle, waiting on the last remaining  permit to be issued by the US Coast Guard.

All of the bureaucratic requirements have been achieved with a dismissed court case, a presidential permit signed off by 9 government agencies, an now the permit from the US Coast Guard. Currently the Canadian government who is investing $3.75 billion into the project is awaiting the US financing for the remaining $250 million.

One of the last steps will be land acquisition on both sides of the border, which is expected to begin this year.
