Hazardous Materials

 In Industry News

The hazardous materials ban could potentially be lifted on international freight travelling across the Ambassador Bridge between Windsor ON and Detroit MI. The Michigan Department of Transportation has released a statement that they intend to re-evaluate the current ban. The ban currently includes everything from Household Hazardous Materials to explosive and radioactive materials. They are noting the proposal would only include household hazardous materials for example empty propane tanks, and that explosive and radioactive materials would remain banned from crossing the Ambassador Bridge. The MDOT has extended the public comment period until May 27th 2013, in order to address concerns and insure that all parties affected are being consulted.
