That statistics for freight in May have been released and surprisingly the numbers remain unchanged from the previous month. According to stats released by the Department of Transportation freight between the US and it’s NAFTA partners declined only 0.4% from April.
US – Canada freight reached $54.79 billion in May, matching Aprils results. There was slight increase in the value carried by truck (0.2%) and vessel (7.3%). There was a slight decrease in pipeline (-2.1%), air (-0.3%), and rail (-3.7%).
Overall it looks as though trade has been holding steady, and has increased 1.8% overall from the previous year.
