New Detroit- Windsor Bridge Named After Hockey Legend

Recently announced by Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Governor of Michigan Rick Snyder, the new bridge connecting Windsor ON and Detroit MI will be named after famous hockey superstar Gordie Howe. This name has been chosen as representation of the strong bond between the US and Canada, specifically that of Detroit and Windsor. Howe a Canadian, played in the NHL for 26 seasons, playing for the Detroit Red wings, he was beloved by both his Canadian and American fans.

Currently Gordie Howe is recovering from a series of strokes that occurred this past winter, we wish Mr Howe well on his path to recovery.
